It all started in chat rooms, then websites such as MySpace and now I give you Craig's List.
I heard about Craig's List through a friend last year, but didn't really pay attention to the website's services until a couple of weeks ago. I was bored and came across the ''Personals'' section, where you can find multiple sex partners. I'm my opinion I see it as the vulgar version of EHarmony or Match and it's legal unless of course minors get involved. What has Craig's List done to prevent minors from getting involved? Absolutely nothing, the only thing they offer to protect young teens is a ''flag button''. Do you think if a sexual predator sees a ''sexual ad'' from a young sixteen year old he's going to flag such ad so it's removed? Of course not.
Some of you may be thinking some people go to such websites because they are just looking for a sexual partner, and there's nothing wrong about that. So I decided to conduct a small experiment, to see how safe Craig's List is. I posted two sex ads under Craig's List ''Casual Encounters''
The first ad was the following:
Want to have some fun? - w4m
I'm a 18 year brunette. 5'4, tan, average body looking to have some fun if you know what I mean ;)
I'm sick of going thru the process of getting to know people. I just want to get down to business. I don't want anyone clingy, just want some fun. No dinner, or lame dates.
If you like what you read e-mail me, and maybe we can set up a day to play around.
xoxo
I clearly stated I was eighteen years old, but how can anyone reading this ad know for sure that I'm an eighteen year old girl? Anyone could of posted an ad like this. An older man interested in young men could of posted such ad, meet up with the victim who is thinking he is going to meet up with an eighteen year old female and done horrible things to him. That's just one scenario, there's so many other awful things that could happen. After I posted this ad, I got 104 emails from different guys in four days, they were pretty basic. But this one surprised me, I honestly did not expect a response like this:
I saw your post and loved it!
I am a married sex freak that
just loves to get together
with young girls
and show them how it is really done!
My last 18 year old encounter had
15 orgasms over a 2 day period.
I live in Philly
and would love to pay your way
to come up here to philly
and spend the entire weekend naked
and shaking from orgasms.
This is a one time NSA event
and we will never speak again
after it happens.
I'm sending 2 pics along of me
and the last 18 year old I was with.
This was about 1 1/2 months ago.
You can see by the pics we did get it on.
I want this to be you!
Let get together and fuck like rabbits!
Let me know if you are interested
and please send a picture back. thanks!
For privacy issues I'm not going to post the pictures I received, which were also disturbing.
The other e-mails I got were not as disturbing as this one, but they were still shocking. It may seem like there's nothing illegal here, but I lied about my age. He doesn't know that,
none of the other 103 guys that responded to my ad are aware of the fact that I'm a minor. But I'm more than sure that if I decided to meet up with them, more than 50% would not care about my age and go on with their sexual acts.
The second ad I posted was a little different, here it is:
School girl - w4m
Hi, I'm a school girl still in high school almost 18 looking to have some fun this cold winter.
I'm tired of jerks pretending that they like me, I just want to get down and dirty.
I don't care about your age, all I'm asking for is someone who knows how to move.
I'm free this weekend. My place all you need to bring is yourself.
I got eleven responses in less than an hour, some from older men that had no problem with me being a minor. The ad was removed not even an hour after I posted it, because someone flagged it. I was a little disappointed, but glad someone was responsible enough to flag it. They didn't know it was an experiment, so they did good. But even thought the ad was removed within
an hour I had already gotten eleven messages to choose from. There for ''flagging'' it doesn't do much. I'm already in danger.
I don't have a personal problem with Craig's List but I do think they need some work in that area, for the sake of not only our generation but for the next one too.
